Harlem Hookah’s Black History

It’s Black History Month and Harlem Hookah has curated a special list to celebrate!

Being as we are so early into 2022 the idea of indoor dining is still in its early resurgence, an experiences like these are still nothing short of magical! With an ambience to match of vibrant music, high energy social atmosphere, and upscale interior decor rather or not you into hookah or not(like my self) it still gives a great weekend party like ambiance with wonderful cocktails to satisfy your nightlife desires without actually having to go to a full scale club!

In their Black History list, the point of the new Harlem Hookah menu is to bring an active awareness to a select list of local blackened businesses! Oh-Shito, which is a Ghanaian pepper sauce that features a delicate blend of scotch bonnet peppers, garlic, ginger, and mixuture of spices and meat flavours, was an amazing additive to the standard Hickory Harlem Sliders that truly took our choice food item to another level!

A second Black History highlight was the featured Whiskey! A personal favourite, we would like to introduce you to the Whiskey of the month called Shinju. Developed with a strong Japanese inspiration, Shinju is an elegant blend of 4 whiskies & water from the slopes of Mt Fuji! Harlem Hookah’s “Sweeter than Sour” cocktail features the whiskey in a manner where you could easily order this cocktail back, to back, to back(to back) and although that combination may have you in your feelings, based on your tolerance level, the mix and blend of the multi-layered ingredients partnered with the singed rosemary long stem herb beautifully balances this drink to a just right rating!

Beyond the signature Sweeter than Sour cocktail, another bespoke cocktail is the “Black Opulence”. Described best as a Lychee martini, this Black History Month Cocktail truly embodied its roots! Although not a fan of such a cocktail the drink did stand up well against the “Sweeter than Sour” highlight and makes for a great suggestion for someone who may be into more light and very sweet style drinks as it truly did taste just like the fruit. So even if you aren’t traditionally into sweet drinks but you are fond of lychee fruit, then this would also be a great suggestion.

Although supposedly for a short time I believe the new cocktail additions and condiment sauce selection should definitely be here to stay. amongst the many reviews, features, and highlights that V0LATILE has had the pleasure of hosting I can say for a signature taste in tapas the Oh-shito sauce is the best and most memorable side sauce of any restaurant, and the “Sweeter than Sour” mixture is easily in the top 5 of any drink features we have highlighted! We hope to see you at Harlem Hookah as well as we hope this review and highlight gave you a little more insight into what could be your Friday night hot spot!!
