MARELUNA

Mareluna is this cozy Italian eatery in soho that offers tasty bites and a curation of selected wines with a handful of signature cocktails. The moment you walk into the restaurant you're greeted with the warmth and elegance of the space from the lighting to the decor, and staff. Decor details that stood out to me were the white exposed brick walls, red faux flowers/plants that hangs from the side of the walls, blue bar paint complimented with marble countertop, and the golden light fixtures. For this restaurant feature, two dishes, four cocktails, and a savory dessert were sampled, and wow, everything was delicious. For the bites, I started off with the Fritto Misto, lightly fried, calamari, shrimp, squash blossoms, fried meyer lemon, and calabrian chili aioli...um, more please. This was delicious by way of seasoning, plumpness of the shrimp, crisps, and serving size. Highly recommended. Next bite was the Duck Ragu, pappardelle, 8 hr gently cooked duck, thyme, juniper, dark cherry balsamic, and aged parmesan. The duck had parts that were minced n' crispy sprinkled over the pasta, and the other duck parts were regular pieces smothered in gravy that complemented the overall ragu dish. The texture between the minced duck crisps and pasta were a great pair which made for a palatable experience.

The signature cocktails included the Mareluna Bellini...blackberry, lavender, and prosecco. Very delicious,  highly recommended

Alleria....raspberry, basil, rose water, gin alternative, and prosecco. This is definitely one of my favorites along with the Mareluna Bellini...it's tasty, different in a good way. Highly recommended.

Felicita....orange blossom, kefir, prosecco, and a tequila alternative. This was refreshing, spa like vibes...or in my books a tasty elevated lemonade.

Passione Amara....blood orange, black cherry, and a bourbon alternative. Mareluna's spin from the old fashion family, sweet n' savory with bourbon...bold, masculine...I didn't really fancy this one.

So there you have it, your next restaurant find for happy hour, dinner and/or brunch in Soho. Hope you enjoyed the read.

xoxo
