The First Black Woman To Be Named Maxim's Sexiest Woman Alive
Not only is Teyana Taylor an actress, choreographer, dancer, director, CEO, and mother, but now she is also the first black woman to be named Maxim’s Sexiest Woman Alive. Taylor looked breathtaking on the magazine cover as she flaunted her killer abs and stood in a strong, confident pose as she looked directly at the camera.
Taylor styled herself for the cover shoot along with assistant styling by Julian Mack, and she was photographed by Gilles Bensimon. For the Maxim cover, Taylor rocked an edgy look consisting of baggy vintage army pants, a white Hanes cropped tank top, Prada army boots, and a Pamela Love choker. In her full interview featured on Maxim’s website, Taylor wore some other fashionable outfits as well, including a sexy look consisting of an open white jacket by Maison Margiela with no shirt underneath and cozy-looking white graphic pants by Knxledge Studios. Taylor also killed it in a pair of edgy vintage overalls. Going along with the military-inspired look, she also wore a vintage open army jacket with no top underneath, green sweatpants, a green beanie, and her own jewelry. Keeping with the green theme, Taylor also wore a green vintage fishing vest, green Darryl Brown pants, and socks from Urban Outfitters with a playful smile face design at the toes.
While Taylor looked stunning in her streetwear-esque looks, she was not afraid to bring the glamour in a seductive sheer black Valentino dress paired with black platform heels by Giuseppe Zanotti. She wore another long sheer piece as well: a white Maison Margiela dress with long sleeves. In a dramatic black and white photo, Taylor wore a long, textured Y/PROJECT top and sat in a chair as she smoked. The smoke coming out of her mouth added more interesting texture to the overall look.
The cover shoot was produced by Jessica Athanasiou. The makeup artist for the shoot was Haley Love (although Taylor barely wore any makeup for the shoot), her hair was done by Ky Johnson and Billions Wimberley, and her nails were done by Tiffany Everett. Taylor seemed extremely grateful and honored to be named Sexiest Woman Alive; she was so excited that she wrote “Somebody pinch me!!!!” on her Instagram. Between her beauty, brains, and talent, there is no doubt at all that she deserves this title, and we cannot wait to see what is next for her.
